The California Education Code §44340 & 44341 require that all individuals who seek to obtain California credentials, certificates, permits, and waivers issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing receive fingerprint clearance from the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) through the Commission. 通过其他加州机构、雇主、其他州或政府机构获得指纹许可的个人也不能免于此过程。 在2005年2月28日或之后发出的清关证明书有效期为五年。 教育学院 要求所有进入证书课程或参加包括与学生一起实地考察的课程的学生在注册这些课程之前持有有效的许可证书。

专业和证书选择
主修课程包括60个低级通识教育准备单元，135个主修单元，以及适合学生证书选择的选修课程。 学生可以在课程中获得一到两个证书：
- A 多科目证书, preparing the student to teach children grades K-8 in self-contained classrooms. 学生也可以在他们的证书上添加科目授权，允许他们教授7-9年级的科目课程。
